Public Art, Public Conversation Responses to 'guerrilla art' in San Francisco
The 2005 edition of the Expo for the Artist & Musician newspaper includes several essays on "guerrilla art" in San Francisco, all of which, in some way, address issues of access to channels of communication.
Two of the essays described artworks that commented on the Hearts in San Francisco project, and the Asian Art Museum's "Geisha: Behind the Painted Smile" exhibit.
We hope to get a similar response from the Asian Art Museum regarding the "Geisha Guerrilla" ... please stay tuned for that.
You can read the original essays in the Expo newspaper, which is available as of August 20 around San Francisco. If you'd like to have a copy of the newspaper mailed to you, please send us an email with your address.
The full digital edition will be posted later this fall.
